On May 29th, the fifth meeting of China-Central and Eastern European National Association for Higher Education sponsored by China Education International Exchange Association was held in Shenzhen University. Deputy Minister of Education Tian Xuejun, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen Gao Zimin, and school leaders and representatives from 24 universities in Central and Eastern European countries and 110 colleges and universities in China attended the meeting. Vice principal Zhang Zhijian attended the meeting and participated in the symposium on behalf of the school.
In his speech, Tian Xuejun pointed out that cooperation between universities in China and Central and Eastern Europe is an important part of China’s international cooperation in higher education. The cooperation at all levels and types has strongly promoted the discipline construction and personnel training of universities and colleges in various countries and enhanced the ability of universities to serve their own socio-economic development. He encouraged Chinese colleges and universities in central and eastern European countries and academic institutions to carry out more substantive cooperation to continuously raise the level of internationalization of higher education. On behalf of the school, Zhang Zhikai participated in a special discussion on "Establishing the China-Central and Eastern European Countries Joint Innovative Ecosystem" and introduced the school’s characteristics of running a school, achievements of international exchanges and cooperation, and cooperation with domestic and foreign partners on innovative activities. He expressed suggestions and wishes for strengthening cooperation in education and scientific research with universities in Central and Eastern Europe, especially for joint scientific and technological innovation activities. He also exchanged views with leaders of some participating universities.
The theme of this conference is Strengthening China-Central and Eastern Europe Education Cooperation • Cultivating Innovative Talents. Representatives of the education authorities of Central and Eastern European countries, representatives from Hanban, the National Council for Scholarship Management, and the China Education International Exchange Association respectively gave speeches and shared practical experiences in promoting education cooperation between China and the countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The participating education officials and the colleges and universities of the China and Central and Eastern European countries that attending the conference were centered around "promoting education cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe", "establishing a joint innovation ecosystem of China and Central and Eastern European countries," "Talent training in artificial intelligence era". "International Communication and Social Innovation", "The Opportunities and Challenges for the Development of the Federation," and so on five issues, conducting discussion.
