The College of Humanities currently has a law department, department of sociology and psychology, a research institute of shipbuilding and marine law, a research institute of intellectual property law, a research institute for applied psychology, and a training base for college teachers to study mental health education in Heilongjiang province. It has the legal granted right to issue master's degrees to law students as the 1st level discipline, and also sociology and applied psychology to students as the 2nd level discipline. It has two undergraduate majors; one is law and the other is sociology. A total of 377 students were awarded master's degrees from 2006 to 2010, also known as "the Eleventh Five Year Plan period", and 461 students were awarded bachelor's degrees.
