    080501 Energy and Power Engineering

    Professional training objectives: This specialty aims to train advanced applied personnel with solid theoretical foundation knowledge as well as strong practice ability in energy conversion and utilization and the thermal field of environmental protection; it also offers adaptation and innovation consciousness training with high moral and cultural quality to meet the social demand for talent in the field of energy power and its related scientific research, design, teaching, and engineering technology.

    Training requirements: The students should possess the broad theoretical foundation in natural science, humanities and social science knowledge, thermology, mechanical, electrical, machinery, automatic control and have professional knowledge and practical ability in thermal power engineering, also mastering computer application knowledge and automatic control technology.

    Students in this major must have the following several aspects of the knowledge and ability.

    Possess strong grounding in nature science, good background in humanities and social science, and good command of expressing and writing in the native language.

    Systematically master the major's basic knowledge of technology and theory, mainly including engineering mechanics, mechanical engineering, engineering thermophysics, fluid mechanics, electrician and electronics, control theory and other basic knowledge.

    Access to engineering practice by its professional field training, having strong computer and foreign language application ability.

    Hold necessary professional knowledge in their field, understand the scientific frontier and developing trends.

    Have Strong skill in self learning, and good sense of creation and innovation.

    Major training objectives:This specialty aims to train advanced applied personnel with professional knowledge in Marine engineering with technology, creativity, ability to engage in the research of the marine engineering field by its design, management, inspection and supervision for national defense and national economic departments. That is, to conform to the country needs to promote social progress with excellent engineers and management personnel

    Professional training requirements: This major is geared to the needs of manufacturing enterprises, management organizations, colleges and universities and research institutes. It is based on the shipping industry, marine engineering and marine equipment, to cultivate characteristic based on wide direction, to cultivate compound talents with comprehensive ability.

    Students must have the following aspects of the knowledge and ability.

    Master basic theory in mathematics, physics and mechanics, display strong logical thinking ability and high comprehensive quality.

    Skilled in computer application technology, possess a good foreign language level.

    Master the basic theoretical knowledge in thermal energy engineering, power engineering and systematic professional theoretical knowledge of Marine engineering.

    Have strong supervision of turbine design, research and practice application ability, has strong ability of self-study and innovation.

    Possess a certain collaboration communication and organizational management ability.

    Graduate comprehensive level complies with the undergraduate graduation level requirements of the British Marine engineering institute of science and technology.
