HEU Patent Won Chinese Patent Award of Excellence
Recently, the WIPO-SIPO Award for Chinese Outstanding Patented Invention & Industrial Design ceremony was held in Beijing. The patent "Rapid Damping Algorithm of Strapdown Inertial Navigation System," invented by Xu Bo and other professors from HEU's College of Automation of HEU won the Award of Excellence.
This patent has been studied since 2012 and has drawn "time reversal" in Fiber Optic Gyro Marine Strapdown Inertial Navigation System creatively and designed "forward-backward" algorithm. According to the line and angle movement measured by fiber optic gyros and accelerometers, the forward and backward attitude matrix and related velocity can be calculated over and over, thus the damping convergence time during the oscillation cycle of the inertial navigation system can be effectively shortened, and the course and the performance attitude of the strapdown inertial navigation system can be widely enhanced.
The key technology of this patent has been adapted by multiple companies. Its effect is very good and many well-known instrument manufacturers desire to cooperate with HEU and promote and popularize this technology for its application in related systems.
"Chinese Patent Award" is the only government-provided award to encourage and honor the outstanding patented inventions and designs. Not only that, but this award is acknowledged by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). This reward focuses both on the technical level of the patent and design, and on the patents application in the real market. It is affirmation both on the theoretical and practical value.
