    HEU Teacher's Achievements Published on Top Physics Academic Journal of the World

    Recently, HEU made import progress in the field of quantum optics. As one of the first authors, YANG Liu, a young teacher of the College of Automation, published a research paper titled "Radiation Pressure Cooling as a Quantum Dynamical Process" in the world's leading academic journal "Physical Review Letters"[PRL 118, 233604 (2017). YANG Liu collaborated with other researchers including XIAO Min from the University of Arkansas. They were the first to simulate the complete dynamic process of the oscillator cooling in the light system, which did not only subvert people's original understanding about this process, but also provided important guidance for future experimental work.


    The research results will help physicists develop a deeper understanding about the light cooling process. It gives powerful instruction to future experiments, and also the previous reported experiments and theoretical work that needs to be revisited.

    YANG Liu's Brief Introduction:

    YANG Liu, Ph.D., graduated from the College of Physics of Jilin University in 2016. He now works at the College of Automation at HEU. He mainly engages in the theoretical study of quantum optics, quantum and the coherent manipulation of the cold atomic quantum. His recent research results have been published in journals including "Physical Review Letters"(IF=8.462),"Physical Review A"(IF=2.925), and "Optica"(IF=7.727).
