HEU takes the lead nationally in general nuclear technology research
How should we acquire live data of a nuclear power plant's stability to prevent accidents like a nuclear leak? The Nuclear Power Simulation and Research Center of HEU is now engaged in finding out the solution to this question. By taking the lead in the research of nuclear risk live monitoring and management technology--one of the nationally prioritized general nuclear technologies--the Nuclear Power Simulation and Research Center is trying to build a nuclear power plant risk update model, and to develop China's first nuclear risk live monitoring and management software as well as general model systems. If the software and systems prove to be successful in research and application, then nuclear risks will become more predictable and controllable in the future. This will greatly benefit the safety of nuclear power plants.
On April 2nd, 24 experts gathered at HEU to share ideas on some problems concerning the data required, interface design, data acquisition, and safety technology. They also reached a consensus on what steps to take next, laying a good foundation for the future development of the research. The 24 experts represent relevant HEU departments, China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute, CPI Nuclear Technology Center (Beijing) Co., Ltd., CPI Power Engineering Co., Ltd., and China Guangdong Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd.
