The 9th ACM/ICPC College Students Programming Contest of Harbin Engineering University was held
The 9th ACM/ICPC College Students Programming Contest of Harbin Engineering University, China was held on 13th April. Vice President Desen Yang attended the opening ceremony.
The contest is hosted by Academic Affairs Office and Youth League Committee of HEU, organized by College of Computer Science and Technology. The participants include over 130 students from 10 colleges of HEU, as well as more than 20 students from Northeast Forestry University, Northeast Agricultural University, Harbin University of Commerce and Harbin No.3 Middle School. After 5-hour competing, the players of HEU won all the prizes, producing 7 of first prizes, 14 of second prizes, 21 of third prizes and 3 of "Best Female Player".
The online APP and WeChat are used for the first time by College of Computer Science and Technology in publicizing, enrolling, announcing and registering of this contest, which saves large amount of manpower and material resources.
ACM/ICPC International College Students Programming Contest is held annually aiming to demonstrate the innovation capability, team spirit and the ability of programming and analyzing and solving problems under pressure of college students. According to the requirement of the contest, 3 players form a team to complete the 10 questions on programming on one computer in 5 hours, and the team completing the most questions in the shortest time wins the contest. The contest is divided into on-campus qualifying contest, provincial contest, national invitation tournament, Asia qualifying contest and World Final according to its contest levels.
