Extracurricular innovation platform are provided which emphasize system engineering concepts and enhance creativity, focusing on the overall strengthening of individuals.

The predecessor of HEU, Harbin Institute of Military Engineering, wasChina's most famous and important military institute. The present College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering was formed when the specifically military elements of the department were removed. The term of 'second department' which remained admitted its first undergraduates in 1972, graduate students in 1981, and doctoral students in 1986. The 'second department' has undergone numerous changes to articulate its development and emphasis. From the Department of Missile Engineering, to Department of Civil Engineering, to College of Civil Engineering as well as Department of Aerospace Engineering, the College has contributed much to the national defense and welfare.

Our Alumni

Since the restoration of enrollment in 1978, more than 5,000 students have obtained bachelor degrees, and more than 350 graduate degrees along with 100 doctorate degrees. Many of them serve in the field of national defense, shipbuilding and civil engineering. Some have become principals in their areas of specialties, including hundreds of experts and professors over the departmental leadership, and many entrepreneurs. In particular, one alumnus is now the youngest alternate member of The Communist Party Central Committee of China.

Employment of graduates covers a wide rage.
