Recently, the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province announced the list of 2019 “Longjiang Scholars Support Program”. Professor Guo JIN from the College of Material Science and Chemical Engineering and Professor Chunying GUAN from the College of Physics, were appointed as Distinguished Professors of “Longjiang Scholars.” Professor Fuzhen PANG of the College of Shipbuilding Engineering and Yonggang ZHANG of the College of Automation, Runzhang XU from the College of Mathematics, were appointed as Young Scholars of “Longjiang Scholar”, respectively.
The “Longjiang Scholars Support Program” is a leading project for the construction of high-level talents in higher education institutions and research colleges in Heilongjiang Province. It is a major project for talents in Longjiang, which is an important measure to attract academic leaders and young academic talents, who possess both political integrity and talent. It is an important part of the high-level talent training support system implemented by the Provincial Party Committee and Government. Thus, focusing on the introduction and training of young and middle-aged talents, having an outstanding innovation ability and development potential. Hence, this project will build an excellent innovation team, improving the quality innovation ability and core competitiveness of talent training in the institutions of higher learning and research.
Presently, a total of 17 teachers in our school have been selected as “Distinguished Professors of Longjiang Scholars”, 2 teachers have been selected as the “Lecture Professors of Longjiang Scholars” and 6 teachers have been selected as the “Young Scholars of Longjiang Scholars” amongst the young scholars.
Guo JIN, born in December 1977, Professor, doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. He is currently the Director of the Institute of Corrosion Science and Surface Technology. He has been working in the advanced line of teaching and scientific research. He has delivered numerous lectures on several postgraduate and undergraduate compulsory courses, and has guided undergraduates to complete 6 National key projects for the National research projects. He has successfully trained more than 20 graduates. As a project leader, he has undertaken 3 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project of an innovation fund, 2 special sub-topic of theAero engines and gas turbines and more than 20 other research projects. In recent years, he has published more than 70 SCI papers (15 in Top Journal, 28 in JCR, and more than 300 in SCI). He has applied for more than 40 National invention patents (25 authorized); and 1 monograph. He was awarded the first prize of the Ministry of Education Technology Invention Award and the second prize in the Heilongjiang Provincial Natural Science Award.
He is currently the editor of the international journal “ISRN Nanomaterials”, the executive editor of the “Materials Guide”, the expert of the National key R&D plan, the review expert of National Science and Technology Award, the evaluation expert of the “Changjiang Scholars Award Scheme” of the Ministry of Education, the evaluation and consultation expert of degree center of Ministry of Education, evaluation expert of National Natural Science Foundation of China, executive director of China Society of Surface Engineering, Member of China special Committee of Wear-Resistant and Anti-Friction Materials, Member of China Electron Beam and Ion Beam Professional Committee, and reviewer of more than 20 well-known domestic and foreign publications.
Chunying GUAN, born in February 1979, professor, Ph.D. In 2013 and 2017, she worked as the visiting scholar at the University of Southampton and the University of Birmingham. She has supervised 28 doctoral and postgraduate students and was awarded the title of Excellent Master Thesis Advisor of Heilongjiang province.
She has been engaged in the research of special optical fiber technology for a long time and has carried out systematic and detailed research work in the field of fiber integrated optics research, the field of special fiber drawing and device integration, micro-structure Nano photonics and fiber technology. Simultaneously, She pays attention to the results applied to practice. For the first time, the multi-core optical fiber technology has been applied in Astronomy, which solves the bottleneck problem of the existing optical fiber spectrum telescopes in China. Professor GUAN’s research work comprises of; key technologies basic research, typical applications, and has made innovative achievements recognized by the international peers.
As a project leader, she has presided over more than 10 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major research cultivation projects, and surface projects (including 6 National Natural Science Foundations), and has participated in the research of the National Major Instrument Development Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She won the first prize of the Heilongjiang Provincial Science and Technology Award (ranked 4th) and was selected as the “Heilongjiang Youth Academic Backbone Support Program.” She has published more than 150 research papers, including 71 in SCI, 504 in SCI, and 45 in single SCI. Thus, obtaining 31 invention patents and 2 textbooks.
Fuzhen PANG, born in August 1980, professor, doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. He has been working in the advanced line of teaching and research. He is the Deputy Head of the Vibration and Noise Group of the Academic Committee of Ship Mechanics of the Chinese Society of Naval Architecture, the editor of the Ship Engineering, the Secretary of the Special Management Office of the High-tech Ship Scientific Research Project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Judge of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Journal Reviewer of more than 20 SCI. He has presided and undertaken more than 40 projects such as; the key research and development plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the special high-tech ship innovation project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Natural Science Foundation.
He has won 1 second prize of National technical invention, 1 first prize of Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Award and 2 second prizes. He has also won many prizes and has published two books, more than 30 invention patents and more than 20 software copyrights. He has published more than 120 high-level academic papers, including; more than 30 SCI articles and more than 50 EI articles, which have been cited more than 1,000 times at Google.
YonggangZHANG, born in September 1981, professor, doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. He has been working in the advanced line of teaching and scientific research. He is the reserve leader of the leading team of Navigation, Guidance and Control in Heilongjiang Province. He is the Deputy Director of the Navigation Instrument Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, the Director of the China Society of Inertial Technology, the Secretary General of the Harbin College of Inertial Technology, Member of the Youth Work Committee of China Automation Society and IEEE Senior Member.
He has undertaken more than ten projects including; the National Natural Science Foundation and has published more than 120 papers, including 68 SCI search papers and more than 120 EI search papers. He has16 authorized invention patents, and has won 5 provincial and ministerial-level second-class scientific and technological awards.
Runzhang XU, born in June 1982, professor, doctoral supervisor, Doctor of Engineering. He has been working in the advanced line of teaching and research, serving as a Member of the Academic Committee of the International Academic Conference and Chairman of the Branch, and as a Member of the editorial board of the SCI District Magazine.
He has presided and undertook more than 10 projects including; the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Science and Technology Research Project of the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province. He has won 2 first prizes and 2 second prizes at the Provincial and Ministerial level, and has published two books and 90 high-level academic papers, one of which was cited 49 times by the ESI high-cited articles.
