On May 30, the first academic seminar on legal issues related to unmanned ships and marine unmanned equipment was held at HEU. The seminar was jointly sponsored by Guangdong Provincial Laboratory of Southern Ocean Science and Engineering (Zhuhai) and HEU, aiming to implement the overall requirements of the country’s strategy of “comprehensively ruling the country by law” and “building a strong maritime power.” Thus, promoting the legal research on unmanned ships and marine unmanned equipment in China, and grasping the voice of the legal system of unmanned ships and marine unmanned equipment in the world. More than 40 experts and scholars gathered here to discuss the theme of the seminar
Vice President HAN Tingfeng attended the seminar and delivered a speech. HAN said that the seminar is closely related to the research and development of the Shipbuilding industry and Naval equipment at HEU. He hopes that through the seminar, we can promote the exchange and learning of experts and scholars, and push the research on legal issues related to unmanned ships and marine unmanned equipment to a new height.
Furthermore, the experts discussed the theme of the seminar. The project leader summarized the seminar, calling for the continued expansion of international research, comparison and exchanges on the legal issues related to unmanned ships and marine unmanned equipment, by strengthening cooperation with core journals such as The Study of International Law. Hence, continuing to make more academic contributions, by enhancing China’s influence and voice in the field of uninhabited ships and marine unmanned equipment related legal issues.
