Recently, the 2022 list of key laboratories to be identified by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was released. Harbin Engineering University has three laboratories on the list, namely, Marine Photonic Materials and Devices Physics Laboratory built by College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, Special Carrier Platform Advanced Electrical Energy Transformation and Energy Management Technology Laboratory built by Yantai Research Institute, and Underwater Propulsion Technology Laboratory built by Qingdao Innovation and Development Base.
Marine Photonic Materials and Devices Physics Laboratory has the right to award the doctoral degree of the first level discipline of "Optical Engineering", an "Optical Engineering" Post-doctoral Workstation, and is a key discipline in Heilongjiang Province. In the fourth round of discipline evaluation, the discipline of "Optical Engineering" ranks in the top 30%, the 20th among universities in China.
Special Carrier Platform Advanced Electrical Energy Transformation and Energy Management Technology Laboratory has undertaken more than 80 scientific research projects including key projects of NSFC, national key R&D/major special projects and basic scientific research of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The laboratory has made a series of outstanding research achievements in the field of power management and control, published several representative highly cited papers and received extensive attention from the academic community at home and abroad. The relevant achievements of the project have won 23 national, provincial and ministerial awards.
In recent three years, Underwater Propulsion Technology Laboratory has undertaken 16 national research projects, and 68 provincial and ministerial and horizontal research projects. The laboratory has published more than 200 high-level academic papers, obtained more than 100 authorized invention patents, published 7 monographs, and participated in the formulation of 2 national standards. It has also won 6 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including the first prize of Marine Engineering Science and Technology Invention Award, the second prize of China Shipbuilding Engineering Society Science and Technology Progress Award, and the first prize of Heilongjiang Province University Science and Technology Award.
