Yang Desen, a deputy to the 20th CPC National Congress, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Harbin Engineering University. On the wall of his office, there is a special map. In the first class of every new semester, Professor Yang likes to start with this map: “The map of China is like a burning torch, and the tray and handle of the torch are the map of China’s oceans...”

The ocean is his work field. In an exclusive interview with China Youth Daily and China Youth Net, he said that the “Jiaolong”, the “Deep Sea Warrior” and the “Striver” are constantly breaking the deep blue limit one by one, making more and more people understand the ocean and more and more young people choose to devote themselves to the ocean.
