On the morning of April 2nd, the unveiling ceremony of the Asia-Europe Institute of Modern Maritime Technology and Equipment was held simultaneously at the 2023 High End Forum for Building a Maritime Community with a Shared Future. The institute will comprehensively enhance the aggregation of innovative resources, support for innovative achievements, and become a driving force of the marine industry.
In recent years, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Shandong Province have always focused on the high-quality development of marine equipment. Based on this scientific review, Yantai has included the construction of the Asia-Europe Institute of Modern Maritime Technology and Equipment into the key construction content of the Report on the Work of the Government in 2023. In February of this year, TIAN Yulong, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and ZHOU Liwei, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, visited Yantai Research Institute to conduct on-site research and guidance on the development of the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry.
The Asia-Europe Institute of Modern Maritime Technology and Equipment is led by Yantai City. In the early stage, it relied on the Yantai research institute, combined with regional universities and related enterprises, collaborated with first-class State-owned enterprises and their subordinate units, and played a role in technology research and development, government think tanks, and industry promotion.
In the future, the Asia-Europe Research Institute will also take the overall development goal of "achieving industry-university-research collaboration, and building an innovative demonstration base that aligns classroom education with real world needs." Through intellectual property transfer, testing center technology services, technology enterprise incubation, and industrial information services, it will achieve the goal of empowering 100 core enterprises and completing 1000 high-level scientific and technological achievements within 10 years.
It will build an internationally renowned modern marine industry technology and equipment research and development center for Northeast Asia, and establish a modern marine industry technology and equipment innovation base for Northeast Asia.
