To pay tribute to the 70th anniversary of HEU, on April 26th, HUANG Binghua, a 77 year old alumnus of Computer Science Department of HEU, donated 100 books of Sailing to the Sea -The Collected Works in Memory of HUANG Jingwen to the library and teachers and students of College of Computer Science and Technology. The donation ceremony was held in the conference room on the 7th floor of the main building, and GAO Wanxin, the deputy secretary of HEU party committee, attended the ceremony. HUANG Binghua is the son of HUANG Jingwen, the first department head of Navy Engineering Department of PLA Military Engineering Institute .
On behalf of HEU, GAO Wanxin accepted donations. Sailing to the Sea -The Collected Works in Memory of HUANG Jingwen was edited by HUANG Binghua, and was compiled based on the important historical events, letters, and memoirs of his comrades since HUANG Jingwen participated in revolutionary activities. It records the main events of the Yunnan-Guangxi-Guizhou Column's battles in the four provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou across China and Vietnam. HUANG Binghua presented books to student representatives of College of Computer Science and Technology.
GAO Wanxin welcomed HUANG Binghua back to the alma mater and thanked him for his donation to HEU. He stated that the Sailing to the Sea -The Collected Works in Memory of HUANG Jingwen carries the history of the HEU and is the cultural memory of HEU. GAO Wanxin also said that as the honorary president of the Guangdong Alumni Association, HUANG Binghua has organized the Guangdong Alumni Association for many years to provide thoughtful and meticulous services to the vast number of alumni and has a deep friendship with the alma mater. He hopes that HUANG Binghua will return to HEU on 70th anniversary celebration and witness the new glory of HEU's development.
