9,532 Freshmen Enroll in Fall Semester

On August 26th and 27th, a total of 9,532 new students embarked on their educational journey at our university. Among them, there were 4,155 undergraduate students, 4,536 master’s students, and 841 doctoral students. As these freshmen step into the esteemed halls of our institution, often referred to as the "temple of military engineering," they bring with them the illustrious legacy of Harbin Engineering University's 70-year history, setting forth on a new and exciting path in life.

This academic year, approximately 90.26% of the newly admitted undergraduate students have chosen science and engineering disciplines, while around 9.74% have pursued arts and management fields. Notably, our university has welcomed 4,536 master’s students this year, marking an increase of 220 compared to the previous year. Within this group, 1,909 are dedicated full-time academic master’s students, 2,130 are enthusiastic professional master’s students, and 497 are committed part-time master’s students. Additionally, the number of admitted doctoral students has reached 841 this year, reflecting a rise of 115 from the previous year. Among these, 604 are engaged in full-time academic doctoral programs, 213 are pursuing full-time engineering doctoral studies, and 24 are enrolled as part-time engineering doctoral students.

Throughout its illustrious 70-year history, Harbin Engineering University has remained firmly rooted in the local community while carrying forward the esteemed legacy of the PLA Military Engineering Institute.
