The 8th National Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for Ship and Ocean Engineering was hosted at HEU from November 11th to 13th. During the opening ceremony, Vice President YIN Jingwei, Deputy Director of the Ship Mechanics Academic Committee of the Chinese Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and Vice Director of the 702 Research Institute of CSSC, WU Wenwei, delivered speeches.

YIN Jingwei highlighted HEU's significant achievements in computational fluid dynamics in recent years. He emphasized that hosting the 8th National Conference on Ship and Ocean Engineering CFD provides an opportunity to collectively advance CFD and hydrodynamic research in ship and ocean engineering in China. The aim is to foster the development of scientific research in fundamental fields and interdisciplinary disciplines, contributing significantly to China's high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement.

WU Wenwei noted the conference's expanding influence, serving as a crucial platform for innovative development in CFD within ship and ocean engineering. It has evolved into one of the most influential conferences for various academic groups under the Ship Mechanics Academic Committee.

The conference featured eight themed venues, covering topics such as CFD Numerical and Theoretical Methods, Autonomous Software and Industrial Applications, Complex and Biomimetic Flows, Hydrodynamic Standard Model Calculations, Fluid-Solid Coupling of Marine Structures, Intelligent Fluids and Applications, Cross Media and Cavitation Flows, and Coastal Engineering and Wave Mechanics.
