On May 21st, Zikunova Irina Valeryevna, Chairman of the Khabarovsk Duma, and her team visited HEU. The Secretary of the HEU Party Committee, GAO Yan, welcomed the guests in the Party Conference Room on the eighth floor of the Main Building.

GAO Yan highlighted HEU's historical ties with Russia, noting the school's strong cooperative relationships with Russian universities and research institutes. He emphasized that HEU maintains close exchanges and cooperation with Khabarovsk at both the expert level and in student competitions. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation, he referenced the joint statement on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, which calls for "high-level talent joint training and scientific joint research, and supports cooperation in basic research among universities." He identified Khabarovsk as a key area for HEU to expand its cooperation with the Russian Far East and expressed HEU's willingness to further enhance partnerships with universities and research institutes in Khabarovsk Territory.

Zikunova Irina emphasized that scientific development relies heavily on international exchange and cooperation. She noted Khabarovsk's strong commitment to international educational collaboration. Acknowledging HEU's extensive experience in talent cultivation and scientific research, as well as its solid foundation of cooperation with Khabarovsk, she expressed hope that HEU and universities in Khabarovsk would further deepen their collaboration in basic science and cutting-edge technology. This, she stated, would promote scientific and technological innovation and foster regional economic development between the two countries.
