On May 22nd, Mark Smith, President of the University of Southampton in the UK, and Andrew Arthur, Vice President, visited HEU. President SONG Yingdong and Vice President YU Zhiwen welcomed the guests in the VIP conference room of the Main Building, where they engaged in discussions and exchanges.

SONG Yingdong highlighted the successful collaboration between the two institutions in talent development, academic exchanges, and other areas. He commended the achievements in joint educational endeavors and outlined HEU's strategy for internationalization.

SONG Yingdong emphasized HEU's commitment to maintaining high-level international cooperation and encouraged ongoing communication and dialogue between the two universities. He expressed the desire to explore new avenues for cultivating international innovative talents, innovate methods of academic collaboration, and jointly develop new models for higher education cooperation that are more open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial.
