Recently, the 26th National English Competition for College Students (NECCS) concluded its national finals in 2024. Four students from HEU were awarded special prizes, and eight students received first prizes, marking a record high for our institution and ranking it first among universities in Heilongjiang Province.

NECCS is a large-scale national English comprehensive ability competition with a significant number of participants nationwide. The competition primarily assesses students' English foundational knowledge and skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation, focusing on comprehensive English language application.

In recent years, HEU has actively promoted foreign language teaching, concentrating on improving students' foreign language proficiency and competition levels. This year, the university had 2,228 participants in the national preliminary round of the competition, a 64% increase from the previous year. Ultimately, 12 students received first prizes and advanced to the finals, with 70 students receiving second prizes and 112 students receiving third prizes, marking a historic high in the number of awards.

LIANG Tian, a teacher from the School of Foreign Studies, provided one-on-one pre-match guidance to the contestants.
