From June 15th to 16th, the 10th International Symposium on Ethnic Literature, themed "Ethnicity, Trans-ethnicity, and Universality," was held in Harbin. Over 200 scholars from more than 100 universities and research institutions worldwide gathered to discuss and exchange ideas on ethnic literature, creating a scholarly feast.

ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Secretary of HEU’s Party Committee, and LUO Lianggong, President of the World Ethnic Literature Committee of the International Comparative Literature Association and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages at Central China Normal University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

ZHANG Shimei emphasized that "ethnicity" and "universality" are core issues in the study of ethnic literature, reflecting global concerns about harmonious cultural development between individuality and commonality. She hoped experts and scholars would engage in deep discussions on these topics, sparking intellectual exchanges and providing valuable ideas for achieving global harmony, sharing, and mutual benefit.

LUO Lianggong introduced the history, academic traditions, and significance of contemporary ethnic literature research in shaping global literary culture. He stressed the need to enhance the global database of ethnic literature and establish new paradigms for research, contributing to a Chinese academic system that leads scholars forward, expands perspectives, and updates concepts in real-time.

At the closing ceremony, Professor HE Weihua, Secretary General of the International Ethnic Literature Commission of the (China) Association for Comparative Studies of Languages and Cultures, delivered the closing remarks.
