On June 23rd, 2024, the undergraduate commencement and degree award ceremony was held at the South Stadium, where a total of 3,432 undergraduate students were officially conferred with bachelor's degrees.
President SONG Yingdong, an alumnus from the Class of '85 in Underwater Acoustic Electronics, along with MA Xiaomin, Director of the 726th Research Institute of CSIC Heavy Industries Group, Vice Presidents HAN Duanfeng and YU Zhiwen, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee ZHANG Shimei, and Vice President YAN Rujian, joined other leaders in presenting degree certificates to each participating undergraduate student. They also facilitated the turning of tassels and took commemorative photographs.
President SONG Yingdong congratulated the students on successfully completing their academic journey and warmly encouraged them: "I hope you will strive to become a dedicated young generation of Harbin Engineering University, contributing vigorously to the revitalization of China. Our alma mater will always be your strongest support. I look forward to seeing you create a bright future with determination, shining in the achievements of national development and rejuvenation."
YU Zhiwen announced decisions related to undergraduate graduation and degree awards, including those for international students.
YAN Rujian announced decisions recognizing outstanding graduates from Heilongjiang Province, as well as the university's outstanding graduates and those on the graduation honor roll.
HAN Duanfeng presented awards to representatives of graduates recognized as outstanding from Heilongjiang Province, university outstanding graduates, and those on the graduation honor roll.
ZHANG Shimei presided over the commencement ceremony.
Graduate representatives laid flowers to honor "My Favorite Teacher" and "The Most Warm-hearted Person Around Graduates."
CAO Yifeng from the College of Power and Energy Engineering spoke as the graduate representative.
Lecturer LIU Songzuo from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering shared his thoughts with the graduates.
MA Xiaomin also conveyed his thoughts to the graduates.
Under the leadership of oath-taker CAO Yifeng, all graduates solemnly took their oath.
Amidst a light drizzle, the degree award ceremony officially commenced.
