From August 2 to 5, the 35th National Conference on Hydrodynamics was held at the Qihang Activity Center. Over 300 experts and scholars from more than 60 institutions nationwide gathered to discuss advanced hydrodynamic technologies and exchange ideas on future research directions. The opening ceremony was attended by Academician WU Yousheng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President HAN Duanfeng of HEU, and WANG Junli, Secretary-General of the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society.
In his address, WU Yousheng welcomed the attendees and encouraged young experts and scholars to engage in dialogue and learning. He emphasized that the conference offers a platform for presenting new research findings and fostering interdisciplinary exchanges in hydrodynamics. He urged Chinese hydrodynamicists to address national needs, enhance collaboration, and advance related science and technology.
HAN Duanfeng provided a brief overview of HEU's history and recent technological achievements. He noted that HEU would use this conference to showcase its strengths, focus on hydrodynamics research in shipbuilding and ocean engineering, and address national and industry needs.
WANG Junli discussed the development of the China Shipbuilding Engineering Society’s journal group and its academic exchange platform. During the opening ceremony, the ZHOU Peiyuan Awards for Hydrodynamics and the JHD Highly Cited Paper Award were presented.
