From September 20 to 22, the 6th Annual Conference of the Alliance for Talent Cultivation and Discipline Development in Area Studies at Colleges and Universities took place at Sun Yat-sen University.

The conference was co-sponsored by the Area Study Secretariat of the Ministry of Education, the Alliance for Talent Cultivation and Discipline Development in Area Studies at Colleges and Universities, the Area Study Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, the International Translation Institute/Area Study at Sun Yat-sen University, the "Belt and Road Initiative" Research Institute of Sun Yat-sen University, and the HEU School of Foreign Studies.

This year's theme was "Area Study and the Chinese Path to Modernization," providing a platform for domestic universities and research institutions to discuss discipline development, personnel training, and their role in supporting China's modernization efforts.

Leaders from the School of Foreign Studies attended the opening ceremony, while representatives of young faculty members participated in sub-forums and delivered reports.
