Delegation from the China Institute of Atomic Energy Visits HEU for Research and Collaboration

On October 24, XU Rongsong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the China Institute of Atomic Energy, led a delegation of eight members to visit Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for discussions on deepening cooperation. ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Secretary of HEU's Party Committee, attended the symposium.

ZHANG Shimei highlighted HEU's significant achievements in the nuclear field, noting that the university has remained at the forefront of industry developments in talent cultivation. she expressed hope for further strengthening cooperation and exchanges with the Institute, emphasizing HEU's commitment to providing more development platforms and opportunities for students, while jointly promoting the advancement of China's nuclear industry.

XU Rongsong expressed gratitude on behalf of the Institute for HEU's long-term support in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other areas. He acknowledged that the challenges of innovation in the nuclear field are substantial and that cultivating reserve talent is particularly important. He expressed a desire to deepen cooperation with HEU, promote the high-quality development of China's nuclear industry, and contribute to the sector's long-term goals.

The meeting included presentations on the development history, discipline construction, scientific research achievements, and collaborative efforts of the College of Nuclear Science and Technology. Participants discussed strategies to strengthen scientific research cooperation and cultivate outstanding talent.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the Memorial Hall of the PLA Military Institute of Engineering and the Scientific and Technological Achievements Exhibition.

Later that afternoon, the Institute held its 2025 Campus Recruitment event at the Qihang Multi-Functional Hall. During the recruitment session, the Institute provided students with an overview of the development history of China's nuclear industry and the significant contributions made by the Institute to its growth. They also introduced their development platforms, scientific achievements, and talent policies.

Following the meeting, various research units of the Institute formed expert recruitment teams to interview interested students. The experts provided detailed information about the job responsibilities within their respective departments, engaged in in-depth discussions with applicants, and reached preliminary employment agreements with several outstanding graduates.
