On November 15, 2024, the 2nd China Marine Equipment Expo, themed "Green Intelligence, New Quality Future," was held at the Fuzhou Strait International Exhibition Center. The winners of the 7th Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry Patent Awards were also announced during the event. As a key participant, HEU received the prestigious title of "Outstanding Exhibitor" and secured two gold awards along with two excellence awards in this highly competitive industry patent recognition program.
The expo featured participation from 800 prominent maritime enterprises, universities, and research institutions. HEU presented more than 40 innovative technological achievements known for their high maturity and industrial applicability. Their exhibit, organized into six sections, showcased advancements in areas such as intelligent unmanned ocean vessels, smart ocean robots, ship vibration and noise reduction technologies, and new ocean materials. Using physical prototypes and multimedia, HEU highlighted its cutting-edge research and development capabilities, reflecting its strong foundation in technological innovation within the maritime sector.
HEU's gold-awarded patents included "An Easy-to-Recover Wave Glider and Its Recovery Method," developed by Professor LIAO Yulei and his team from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering, and "A Channel Learning-Based Multiple Access Sensing Source Feedback Optimization Method," designed by Professor SHENG Xueli and his team from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering. These accolades were part of a selection process involving members of the China Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Industry Intellectual Property Alliance. Out of the total 14 gold awards and 16 excellence awards granted, HEU achieved the highest number of recognitions.
In parallel with the expo, the China Shipbuilding Intellectual Property High-Quality Development Forum and a meeting of the Intellectual Property Branch of the China Association of National Shipbuilding Industry took place. HEU was appointed as a vice-chair unit of the Intellectual Property Branch. Additionally, Professor LIAO Yulei delivered a presentation on "High-Value Patent Practice in the Field of Marine Robots," sharing insights from HEU’s experience in developing impactful maritime patents.
