Inspection of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) by HUANG Qiang, Vice Secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Committee, and His Delegation

On November 25, HUANG Qiang, Vice Secretary of the Jiujiang Municipal Committee, and his delegation visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for a research-focused inspection. During the visit, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on several key areas, including laboratory infrastructure, faculty development, talent cultivation, and the growth of alumni associations. The meeting was addressed by GAO Yan, Party Secretary of HEU, while YIN Jingwei, Vice President of HEU, presided over the conference.

On behalf of HEU, GAO Yan extended a warm welcome to HUANG Qiang and his delegation, expressing appreciation for the ongoing support and assistance provided by Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, in the university's growth and development. GAO briefly outlined HEU’s history and highlighted its distinctive educational strengths, particularly in the fields of "three marine and one nuclear," which encompass shipbuilding, marine engineering, nuclear technology, and related disciplines.

GAO Yan emphasized the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the areas of shipbuilding and deep-sea exploration. He stressed the need to leverage each other’s strengths and resources to contribute to the advancement of China’s maritime capabilities and to support the country’s goal of building a strong maritime nation.

In his remarks, HUANG Qiang expressed his gratitude to HEU for its long-standing support of Jiujiang City’s development. He shared insights into the city’s resource advantages and the current state of its shipbuilding industry. Huang also highlighted the important role played by figures such as Professor ZHANG Aman, who has facilitated cooperation between HEU and Jiujiang City. He encouraged both sides to continue strengthening the "talent reservoir," enhancing "innovation capacity," and building a sustainable "cooperation ecosystem" to foster mutual growth and success.
