This year, the Snow Ship Winter Carnival returns with exciting new additions! The faculty and students of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) have poured their passion and creativity into a stunning snow art project. On the university’s sports field, they collaboratively sculpted intricate snow representations of the 9th Asian Winter Games 2025 mascots, “Binbin” and “Nini,” alongside a magnificent replica of the aircraft carrier “Fujian.” This impressive and innovative display reflects HEU’s enthusiastic support for the upcoming Asian Winter Games.

At 9 AM on December 7, the “Snowship Welcoming the Asian Winter Games 2024” event officially kicked off. The expansive sports field, measuring 230 meters by 112 meters, stood ready for the creative endeavors of teachers and students, awaiting transformation into a canvas of snow and art.

Eighteen colleges and more than 1,600 faculty members and students quickly mobilized, working in unison according to a pre-arranged plan. Each participant wielded a shovel, which became their "brush" for this distinctive artistic creation.

The students' faces were illuminated with excitement and intense focus, fully immersed in the meticulous work of sculpting their designs.

In creating the "Snowship," the students paid careful attention to every detail, scraping away excess snow with precision to ensure that each element was perfectly crafted while maintaining a smooth and seamless overall appearance. For the complex mascots, "Binbin" and "Nini," they adjusted the angle and pressure of their shovels to capture fluid, lifelike facial expressions.

Through their collective effort, a remarkable 196-meter-long, 40-meter-wide replica of the aircraft carrier “Fujian” emerged on the field. From an aerial view, “Binbin” appeared to glide gracefully across the snow, as if ice skating, while “Nini” joyfully skied, waving a friendly greeting to all.

Throughout the event, HEU set up a warm service station in the gymnasium to support the students with refreshments and logistical assistance.

Under the banner of "Dream of Winter, Love Among Asia," faculty and students gathered proudly beside their snow sculptures, shouting slogans filled with excitement and well wishes for the Asian Winter Games. In this frozen landscape, they shared unforgettable moments, embarking on a journey filled with hope and expectation, and weaving dreams of winter into a beautiful tapestry of love and unity across Asia.
