ZHOU Dongming, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Anqing City People's Congress, Visits HEU to Discuss Technological Innovation and Industry Collaboration

On December 12th, ZHOU Dongming, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Anqing City, led a delegation of 12 officials to Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for a research visit. The two sides engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening industry-education-research cooperation and advancing the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. President SONG Yingdong and President Assistant YIN Hang accompanied the delegation on a tour of the PLA Military Institute of Engineering Memorial Hall before the meeting. Vice President YIN Jingwei participated in the symposium.

During the symposium, Vice President YIN Jingwei provided an overview of HEU’s development, highlighting the university's contributions to scientific innovation, talent development, and its recent achievements in social service. He emphasized HEU’s commitment to the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and its ongoing efforts to explore new models for collaboration between the university and local industries.YIN noted that HEU has established a strong foundation for cooperation with Anqing City and outlined plans to focus on key industries such as new chemical materials, intelligent manufacturing, and commercial aerospace in the future.HEU is committed to deepening its collaboration with Anqing City, strengthening partnerships with local enterprises, and fostering innovation to generate more industrial achievements. The university aims to jointly promote the transformation of scientific research into practical applications, contributing to the creation of high-quality productivity and supporting the region’s economic and social development.

In his remarks, ZHOU Dongming introduced the key industries of Anqing City, emphasizing the importance of accelerating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading. He expressed his hope that this visit would serve as a catalyst for leveraging HEU’s research strengths and talent pool, expanding opportunities for collaboration, and identifying more efficient and practical approaches for the commercialization of research outcomes. ZHOU also encouraged further exploration of industry-education-research partnerships to facilitate the successful implementation and transformation of collaborative projects
