From January 16 to 19, the National High-Level Symposium on Radiation Chemistry and Space Radiation Effects, alongside the unveiling of the Heilongjiang Aerospace Materials and Devices Radiation Safety Testing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance, took place in Harbin. The event was attended by AN Jianguang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province; ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin Engineering University (HEU); and SHA Changqing, Vice President of the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences. These officials participated in the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Over 100 prominent experts, scholars, and industry representatives from the fields of radiation chemistry and space radiation effects across the country attended the symposium.
AN Jianguang highlighted that the Provincial Department of Science and Technology would optimize resource allocation to support the development of aerospace technology. He emphasized the department's commitment to advancing scientific and technological innovation, offering support through science and technology projects, innovation platforms, and other initiatives. His goal is to facilitate the transformation of technological achievements in the aerospace field and foster the emergence of new scenarios, business models, and industries.
ZHANG Shimei underscored that the nuclear technology application industry is a key sector in strategic emerging industries and a driver of new high-quality productivity. He noted that HEU would leverage the province’s robust scientific research resources and industrial foundation to further explore the potential for growth in nuclear technology applications, contributing to the sector's high-quality development.
SHA Changqing stated that the establishment of the Heilongjiang Aerospace Materials and Devices Radiation Safety Testing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance aims to harness Heilongjiang’s strengths to support the national aerospace industry’s development.
The symposium was hosted by the Heilongjiang Nuclear Society, the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences, the Heilongjiang Institute of Atomic Energy, and Harbin Engineering University. It was organized by the Radiation Research and Application Branch of the China Nuclear Society. The event focused on radiation chemistry and space radiation effects, with the goal of promoting the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological innovations in Heilongjiang.
During the symposium, the unveiling ceremony for the Heilongjiang Aerospace Materials and Devices Radiation Safety Testing Industry Technology Innovation Alliance took place. This alliance was established with the strong support of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology and comprises 19 institutions, including the Heilongjiang Institute of Atomic Energy, Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University, and the 49th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. The alliance will provide comprehensive radiation safety assessments for the national aerospace industry, playing a vital role in supporting national strategic needs and the development of the province's commercial aerospace sector.
