Recently, the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines held its 8th meeting of the 9th Standing Council, attended by over 40 standing council member units and nearly 100 council members and guests. Following review, 21 scholars were selected as the Society's inaugural fellows, including two Harbin Engineering University (HEU) alumni: HUANG Li, part-time professor at HEU and 1986 graduate of the internal combustion engine program, and GU Genxiang, 1991 master's graduate of the same program and current researcher.

HUANG Li, an HEU alumna, serves as part-time professor at the university while holding multiple positions at China State Shipbuilding Corporation's 711th Research Institute, including Deputy Chief Engineer, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, and R&D Center Director. A leading expert in China's marine conventional power field, she has dedicated over 30 years to marine engine research, achieving breakthroughs in complete engine design, key component development, prototype creation, and experimental studies.

GU Genxiang currently serves as Researcher, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Committee, and Deputy Chief Engineer at the 711th Research Institute. Her research focuses on Stirling engines and special power systems, where she leads fundamental theoretical studies, key technological research, and complete engine development for specific engine types.
