On April 13, a joint launch ceremony for five major nuclear science outreach initiatives was held at Tsinghua University. The events included the 13th "Charm of Light" Nuclear Science Popularization Initiative, the 10th Nuclear+X Extracurricular Innovation Competition for University Students, the 3rd "Voice of Buds" Youth Nuclear Science Volunteer Experience Camp, and the 2nd Nuclear Sound Science Explanation Contest.

ZHANG Bingchen, an undergraduate student from the Class of 2023 at the College of Power and Energy Engineering, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony as the sole representative of the National University Student Volunteer Speaker Group.

The National University Student Volunteer Speaker Group is organized jointly by the Youth Volunteer Action Guidance Center of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). Harbin Engineering University’s Starsea Journey volunteer team, consisting of over 20 faculty members and students from the College of Power and Energy Engineering and the College of Nuclear Science and Technology, was selected for this prestigious group.

During the seminar at the 10th Nuclear+X Innovation Competition, Harbin Engineering University, representing the Heilongjiang Nuclear Society, presented its innovative nuclear science outreach initiatives. These efforts include leveraging the university’s role as a National Nuclear Science Education Base and promoting more than 10 nuclear-themed study tour routes designed for primary and secondary school students, as well as community audiences in Harbin.
