
On April 15, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and the City of Mudanjiang convened for a strategic cooperation meeting and a signing ceremony to promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and investment. This event marked a significant step forward in deepening collaboration across key sectors, including equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture, and the digital economy. The partnership aims to align HEU’s advanced technologies with Mudanjiang's industrial needs, driving the comprehensive revitalization of Heilongjiang Province.
Attendees included HEU Party Secretary GAO Yan, Mudanjiang Municipal Party Secretary ZHANG Guojun, HEU Vice President YIN Jingwei, and Mudanjiang Standing Committee Member SUN Tao. The meeting was chaired by LIU Junlong, Vice Mayor of Mudanjiang.
GAO Yan expressed optimism that this agreement would foster a cooperation model focused on "demand, problem-solving, and objectives." He emphasized the importance of aligning HEU’s innovation chain with the industrial chain, converting academic research into market competitiveness for businesses, and leveraging the university's intellectual and talent resources to support Mudanjiang’s innovative development. Together, they seek to create a new chapter of "technology empowering industry and innovation driving progress."
ZHANG Guojun highlighted the long-standing and close relationship between HEU and Mudanjiang, noting that recent years have seen the partnership grow stronger and more impactful. He acknowledged the university's critical contributions to technological innovation, talent development, and industrial collaboration, all of which have played a significant role in Mudanjiang’s high-quality development. ZHANG encouraged HEU to build on these successes by bringing more scientific breakthroughs, innovative ideas, and top-tier talent to Mudanjiang. He also suggested strengthening communication mechanisms, deepening scientific and technological cooperation, and expanding talent exchanges to achieve even greater results and further energize Heilongjiang's revitalization.
Faculty members from HEU's College of Computer Science and College of Intelligence showcased their scientific and technological achievements during the event.
The meeting culminated in the signing of one strategic cooperation agreement, five industry-university-research collaboration agreements, and three intent agreements aimed at transforming scientific and technological achievements into tangible outcomes.
