Harbin Engineering University Leadership Visits CNNC for Research and Collaborative Exchange

On April 18, President SONG Yingdong led a delegation from Harbin Engineering University (HEU) to the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) for a research visit and exchange. During the visit, President SONG engaged in discussions with SHEN Yanfeng, General Manager of CNNC and an alumnus of Class 90321, as well as with XIN Feng, Deputy General Manager of CNNC. The two parties held in-depth conversations on strengthening collaboration in scientific research, platform development, talent cultivation, and the integration of industry and education. Vice Presidents YIN Jingwei and ZHAO Yuxin, along with Assistant to the President YIN Hang, accompanied President SONG on the visit.

President SONG expressed his gratitude for CNNC’s long-standing support of HEU. He highlighted that HEU has consistently focused on key areas such as the shipbuilding industry, naval equipment, ocean development, and the application of nuclear energy, building a solid and expansive strategic partnership with CNNC. He emphasized the importance of further expanding collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of joint scientific research, talent development, the co-construction of high-level research platforms, and digital transformation. He called for efforts to accelerate the application, promotion, and commercialization of technological innovations.

SHEN Yanfeng welcomed President SONG and his delegation, acknowledging the strong strategic partnership between CNNC and HEU. He noted that the two organizations have maintained close cooperation in talent development and scientific innovation, resulting in numerous significant achievements. As a key base for nuclear science and technology research and talent cultivation, HEU has consistently provided CNNC with highly qualified professionals. SHEN expressed hope that both parties would enhance their collaboration in original innovation, talent development, and the transformation of research outcomes, fostering a deeper integration of innovation, industry, and talent.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed the development of HEU’s nuclear discipline and discussed future collaboration initiatives. The session concluded with an open exchange of ideas.
