Harbin Engineering University Hosts Summit Forum on Key Laboratories in Marine Information Technology

On April 26, the Summit Forum on Key Laboratories in Marine Information Technology was held in Sanya. Nearly 200 experts, scholars, and industry representatives from national and provincial-level key laboratories, universities, and research institutions across China gathered to discuss cutting-edge technologies and innovative trends in marine information, exploring new pathways for high-quality development in the field.

YIN Jingwei, Vice President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) delivered an online speech, while FAN Mu, Deputy Director of the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration, attended and addressed the forum.

In his speech, YIN Jingwei emphasized that the forum focused on frontier technologies in marine information for the new era, bringing together leading experts and institutions in deep-sea equipment to establish a high-level platform for academic and managerial exchange. He highlighted its goal to deepen industry collaboration and drive innovation, urging participants to seize the opportunity for in-depth discussions that would inject new momentum into the field's advancement.

During the event, HEU unveiled two jointly established laboratories with industry partners: the "Sanya Joint Laboratory for Deep-Sea Intelligent Detection" with Hefei Xunfei Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and the "Sanya Joint Laboratory for Deep-Sea Intelligent Sensing and Testing Technology" with Hainan Shengke Shenlan Marine Technology Co., Ltd.

The forum was hosted by the National Key Laboratory of Underwater Acoustic Technology and the Science and Technology Association/Journal Press, and organized by the South China Sea Research Institute. Co-organizers included the Hanjiang Laboratory Harbin Center, the Key Laboratory of Polar Ocean Acoustics and Technology Application (Ministry of Education), the Key Laboratory of Marine Information Acquisition and Security (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), the Heilongjiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Marine Information Technology, the Heilongjiang Acoustics Society, and the Editorial Office of the Journal of Harbin Engineering University.

A dedicated exhibition area featured the latest technological achievements and innovative products from over 20 leading companies nationwide, including intelligent marine monitoring systems, big data analytics platforms, and underwater communication devices.
