HEU Partners with Beidahuang Group and Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences to Establish Smart Agriculture Innovation Consortium

On May 13, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) and Beidahuang Group Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the VIP Conference Room of the Qihang Activity Center. This agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in the fields of smart agriculture, intelligent agricultural machinery, and low-altitude industries. Furthermore, HEU, Beidahuang Group, and the Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences jointly established the Smart Agriculture and Low-Altitude Industry Innovation Institute to accelerate the development of innovative agricultural technologies.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures, including YANG Baolong, General Manager of Beidahuang Group; CHEN Youfang, Deputy General Manager; LIN Changhua, Assistant to the General Manager; ZHANG Yanliang, Director of the Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Machinery Engineering; SONG Yingdong, President of HEU; YIN Jingwei, Vice President of HEU; and YIN Hang, Assistant to the President.

President SONG Yingdong highlighted that the tripartite collaboration to establish the Innovation Institute represents a significant advancement in key areas such as smart agriculture, intelligent agricultural machinery, and the low-altitude economy. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the strengths of all parties in scientific research, technological innovation, and industrial applications to create a cohesive innovation ecosystem that connects industry, academia, research, and practice. Song expressed hope that collaboration with Beidahuang Group would streamline the integration of research and industry, offering expanded opportunities for practice and innovation for HEU faculty and students.

YANG Baolong emphasized that the agreement will pave the way for deeper cooperation in scientific research, talent development, and platform construction. He stressed the need to accelerate the transformation of research outcomes, drive agricultural intelligence forward, and foster new productive forces under the “Smart Agriculture + Low-Altitude Industry” model, all while contributing to the advancement of high-quality agriculture and national food security.

ZHANG Yanliang expressed the hope that the three parties would complement one another’s strengths in fundamental research, applied research, and industrialization. Focusing on modern agricultural development, he proposed using the Innovation Institute as a foundation to address critical agricultural production challenges. ZHANG emphasized the importance of using data and intelligence to drive essential technological research and overcoming core technological barriers to support Heilongjiang’s development as a leading agricultural province and to promote rural modernization.

Vice President YIN Jingwei and Deputy General Manager CHEN Youfang signed the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Beidahuang Agricultural Reclamation Group and Harbin Engineering University. The agreement outlines collaboration in seven key areas, including the joint establishment of research platforms, cooperative technological innovation, commercialization of research outcomes, and the development of a talent exchange program.

YIN Jingwei, CHEN Youfang, and ZHANG Yanliang also signed the Co-construction Agreement for the Smart Agriculture and Low-Altitude Industry Innovation Institute, focusing on joint technological advancements, commercialization efforts, and talent development.

During the ceremony, HEU and Beidahuang Group appointed their first cohort of high-level experts to each other’s organizations. YANG Baolong presented appointment certificates to HEU’s LI Bing and TAN Dingzhong, while Song Yingdong awarded certificates to Beidahuang’s MENG Qingshan and CAO Shuang. These cross-appointed experts will play a pivotal role in joint research projects, facilitate the commercialization of scientific and technological innovations, and contribute to talent development, fostering a dynamic synergy between theory and practice.

Following the signing ceremony, the “Caring Plan” donation event took place. Beidahuang Group donated essential goods worth 100,000 yuan, including rice, flour, cooking oil, and dairy products, to support 100 student families.
