On May 17, the 2024 Top 10 Advances in Information and Communications were officially announced at the opening ceremony of the 2025 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day Conference. The project titled Acoustic Information Transmission Technology and Applications for Polar Stereoscopic Observation Platforms, developed by Professor YIN Jingwei’s team from the College of Underwater Acoustic Engineering at Harbin Engineering University(HEU), was included in the list.

The selection campaign for the Top 10 Advances in Information and Communications, organized by the China Institute of Communications, aims to highlight cutting-edge developments in the field, promote technological innovation, and encourage scientists and researchers to explore broader and deeper scientific frontiers. This year’s selection process received 64 entries submitted by leading universities, research institutions, industry enterprises, academic committees, and expert recommendations, including multiple academicians. Following expert evaluations and public review, the final list of the Top 10 Advances in Information and Communications for 2024, along with six nominated projects, was determined.
