On May 21, TANG Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shantou University, led a delegation of nine members to Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for a research exchange. Party Secretary GAO Yan and Assistant President YIN Hang attended the meeting.

GAO Yan expressed hopes to establish a regular communication mechanism between the two institutions. He emphasized strengthening collaboration in talent cultivation, joint research, and academic resource sharing, leveraging the unique advantages of both universities in interdisciplinary fields.

TANG Rui highlighted the importance of enhancing connectivity in industry-academia-research collaboration and discipline development. He proposed expanding cooperative domains and diversifying collaboration formats to provide stronger intellectual and talent support for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

During the meeting, representatives from both sides exchanged views on scientific research, faculty development, and talent training initiatives.

Prior to the meeting, the delegation toured the Memorial Hall of Harbin Military Engineering Institute, the scientific and technological achievements exhibition, and the National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Marine Vehicle Technology.
