On June 22, the inauguration ceremony and first working meeting of the Expert Advisory Committee for the Harbin Research Center of Hanjiang Laboratory were held at Harbin Engineering University (HEU). President SONG Yingdong and CHEN Su, Director of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

The Expert Advisory Committee's inaugural meeting was attended by distinguished members including YANG Desen, Director of Hanjiang Laboratory Harbin Resear ch Center and Chinese Academy of Engineering Academician; DU Xuanmin, Chief Scientist of Hanjiang Laboratory; ZHANG Yuliang, General Manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Shenyang Liaohai Equipment Co., Ltd.; XIA Tiejian, Deputy Director of CSSC 715th Research Institute; ZHOU Shengzeng, Deputy Director of CSSC 726th Research Institute; BU Chen, Vice President of China Aerodynamics Research and Development Center (CARDC); YIN Jingwei, Vice President of HEU; LIANG Liquan, Assistant President of CSSC Systems Engineering Research Institute; ZHANG Xuegang, Executive Deputy Director of CSSC 760th Research Institute; ZHANG Dong, Vice Dean of the School of Physics of of Nanjing University; ZHANG Yu, Vice Dean of the College of Ocean and Earth Sciences of Xiamen University; and YIN Hang, Assistant President of HEU, who also participated in the ceremony.

SONG Yingdong emphasized that the center should future-oriented focus on national critical demand areas including underwater acoustics engineering, maritime security, and intelligent equipment. He highlighted the need to establish a closed-loop innovation system integrating demand-driven research, collaborative problem-solving, and result commercialization. This approach will expedite the transformation of basic research into engineering applications, promote deeper integration of industry, academia, research, and application, and inject strong scientific and technological impetus into the revitalization of Longjiang (Heilongjiang Province).

CHEN Su stressed the need to leverage Heilongjiang's unique cold-region characteristics and equipment manufacturing strengths. He highlighted the importance of promoting local application of relevant scientific and technological achievements in Longjiang, driving traditional industry upgrading and emerging industry cultivation, empowering modern industrial system development, and providing support for building an innovative Longjiang.

YANG Desen announced the list of members of the Hanjiang Laboratory Harbin Research Center Expert Advisory Committee and presented appointment letters to each member.

The Expert Advisory Committee held its first working meeting, where it reviewed the annual operational report of the Hanjiang Laboratory Harbin Research Center and received an update on the progress of major national projects.

Prior to the inauguration ceremony, the attending guests toured the Harbin Research Center of Hanjiang Laboratory.
