Director MENG Qingsheng of Qingdao Marine Development Bureau Visits Harbin Engineering University for Research Exchange

On June 25, a delegation led by MENG Qingsheng, Director of the Qingdao Marine Development Bureau, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for a research exchange. Vice President YIN Jingwei attended the symposium, where both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on strengthening practical cooperation in the marine sector and accelerating the development of a modern marine industry system.

Vice President YIN emphasized HEU’s commitment to leveraging its strengths in scientific research and talent cultivation. He highlighted the university's intention to deepen collaboration with the Qingdao Marine Development Bureau in key areas such as deep-sea equipment manufacturing, deep-sea resource development, and intelligent marine engineering. The university will focus on jointly building scientific and technological innovation platforms, addressing critical technological challenges, promoting the integration of industry, academia, and research, and nurturing top-tier innovative talent. These efforts aim to contribute to the development of high-quality productivity in the marine field.

Director MENG reaffirmed the Qingdao Marine Development Bureau's strong support for HEU in expanding partnerships with leading enterprises and research institutes within Qingdao’s shipbuilding and ocean engineering sector. He emphasized the need for integrating innovation, industry, and talent, fostering collaborative innovation between academia and industry, and achieving mutual benefits. Director MENG also expressed hopes for enhanced joint contributions to the cultivation of marine science and technology talent.

Faculty representatives from the College of Shipbuilding Engineering and the School of Mathematical Sciences presented the university's latest achievements in marine science and technology innovation. Both parties exchanged ideas on further strengthening cooperation in the marine field.

Following the meeting, Director MENG and his delegation visited the university’s exhibition of scientific and technological achievements.
