On July 19, 2025, the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (CSNAME) Youth Forum on Marine Power was held at Harbin Engineering University(HEU).

Vice President YU Zhiwen stated in his address that HEU is committed to cultivating first-class talent and providing cutting-edge technological support for the marine power sector. It plays a vital supporting and leading role in the implementation of energy-saving and emission-reduction policies and the process of economic transformation and development. He expressed hope that experts and scholars would engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly promote technological breakthroughs and leapfrog development in the marine power field.

WANG Junli, Vice Chairman of CSNAME, remarked that China's shipbuilding industry adheres to independent innovation and has made forward-looking plans in new fields such as intelligent manufacturing and new energy vessels, with related research leading the world. The forum aims to establish a professional exchange platform for the marine power sector, promoting collaborative cooperation among universities, research institutes, and enterprises to jointly build a new pattern of high-quality development for the marine power industry.

LIN Yuansheng, Deputy Director of the 719th Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), highlighted that the CSNAME Marine Power Branch is dedicated to functioning as four key platforms: academic exchange, collaborative innovation, achievement promotion, and talent cultivation. He hoped young scholars, through exchanges at the forum, would provide forward-looking insights and theoretical concepts for future technological development, practically contributing the innovative power of marine science and technology to the nation's maritime strength.

CHANG Shan, Director of the Editorial Committee of Journal of Thermal Power Engineering, stated that the journal's mission is to serve national development strategies and promote disciplinary progress and technological innovation in thermal power and energy. The core value of academic exchange lies in sharing, he emphasized, noting that being adept at sharing not only enhances individual research capabilities but also fosters collaborative progress across the entire field.

During the plenary session, Professor MA Ting from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Senior Engineer MA Can from the CSSC 719th Research Institute, Professor GAO Jie from HEU, Senior Engineer DAI Shoubao from the CSSC 703rd Research Institute, and Associate Professor WANG Zhe from Dalian Maritime University delivered objective reports focusing on academic frontiers, popular research areas, and key development directions.
