Recently, the 12th “Datang Cup” National College Student New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition concluded its national finals at Wuhan University of Technology. Six teams from the College of Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) at Harbin Engineering University (HEU) secured awards, including 1 National First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 3 Third Prizes.

Guided by instructor HOU Changbo, the team of LI Haoyang and SHI Haoyu won the National First Prize, marking HEU’s first top prize in this competition. Demonstrating solid foundational knowledge, the team utilized discrete components to simulate the audio signal processing and power amplification output process based on the basic circuit units and electronic components provided by the competition platform. They successfully completed the circuit construction task, achieving low-noise reproduction and output of the audio signal.

The “Datang Cup” National College Student New Generation Information and Communication Technology Competition is co-organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the China Association of Communication Enterprises. It has been consecutively listed in the Ministry of Education’s “National College Student Competition Rankings” for multiple years and has become one of the most influential innovation competitions in China’s information and communication field. This year’s event attracted approximately 40,000 undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and international students from over 400 institutions across the country.

Prior to the national finals, students from ICE had already won 47 provincial-level awards in this competition, comprising 8 First Prizes, 22 Second Prizes, and 17 Third Prizes.
