From August 16 to 17, the 2025 China Robot Competition & RoboCup China Open Special Tournament was successfully held at the Yantai Research Institute of Harbin Engineering University (HEU). The event was organized by the Chinese Association of Automation (CAA), with co-organization from the CAA Robotics Competitions and Training Department, the CAA Robotics Competition Working Committee, Yantai Lihe International Advanced Technology Innovation Center Co., Ltd., and HEU.

The opening ceremony was chaired by WANG Jingchuan, Secretary-General of the CAA Robotics Competition Working Committee. Distinguished guests included ZHENG Zhiqiang, Director of the CAA Robotics Competition Working Committee; YANG Dezhi, Chairman of Leaguer Innovation (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd.; and ZHANG Aiguo, Deputy Party Secretary of the HEU Yantai Research Institute.
This year’s tournament featured 11 flagship events, highlighting cutting-edge advances in robotics: Advanced Robot Vision, Robot Tourism, Martial Arts Arena Challenge, Dance Robotics, Engineering Robotics, Underwater Robotics, Quadruped Biomimetic Robots, Agricultural Robotics, Drone Challenge, Table Tennis Robotics, and the Master Aerial-Ground Cooperative Competition. The competition drew 1,647 teams from 260 universities across China, with more than 4,000 participants.
As China’s most influential and technically advanced robotics competition, the China Robot Competition serves as a premier platform for showcasing robotics technology and innovation. It also functions as a leading academic conference, a STEM education initiative, and a vital hub for knowledge exchange among intelligent manufacturing experts and emerging talent.
