
On September 15, YIN Jingwei, President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) led a delegation to visit the China State Shipbuilding Corporation Systems Engineering Research Institute. The meeting was attended by XIAO Kun, Director of the Institute, Liang Bing, Deputy Director, and ZHAO Yuxin, Vice President of HEU. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on joint technological initiatives aligned with national strategies and the collaborative cultivation of top-tier talent, further strengthening their mutual commitment to cooperation.

YIN Jingwei briefly introduced HEU’s historical development and its distinctive focus on “Three Oceans and One Nuclear.” He emphasized the long-standing and close relationship between the university and the Institute, noting their highly aligned missions and shared direction in the field of marine equipment technology. The university will further leverage its strengths in interdisciplinary collaboration and talent concentration to carry out joint research in cutting-edge technologies, industry-academia-research collaboration, and the co-cultivation of innovative talents across broader and deeper domains.

XIAO Kun provided an overview of the development and overall construction of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation Systems Engineering Research Institute. He acknowledged HEU as one of China’s most important bases for scientific research and talent development in naval architecture and ocean engineering, highlighting the significant contributions both institutions have made together over the years to the advancement of China’s shipbuilding industry. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation in key technology projects, collaborative basic research breakthroughs, and the joint training of high-level talents, aiming for mutual benefit and the development of more national key assets in the maritime field.
