Recently, the inaugural meeting of the Alumni Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Alliance of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) was held at the Nantong International Convention and Exhibition Center, with the theme of “Pooling Strengths in Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Fields for a Win - Win Future”.

GENG Jing, Assistant to the President of HEU, stated in her speech that the establishment of the Alumni Shipbuilding and Marine Equipment Industry Alliance aims to build a collaborative innovation platform of “university plus alumni plus industry plus local government”. It will promote the in - depth integration of the industrial chain, innovation chain and talent chain, and jointly build a world - class marine and offshore engineering industry cluster. She hoped that a large number of alumni would take the alliance as a link, actively engage in the innovative development of the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry, bring advanced technologies, high quality resources and rich experience back to the university, and jointly write a new chapter in serving the country through shipbuilding and marine equipment undertakings.

LIU Zhigang, Chairman of the Alliance, delivered a speech via video. He said that as an important platform for integrating alumni resources and pooling industrial strengths, the alliance will give full play to the university’s advantages in scientific research and talents in the field of shipbuilding and ocean engineering. It will gather the wisdom of alumni around the world, contribute to the high quality development of the university’s and alumni’s shipbuilding and marine equipment undertakings, and provide support from HEU for the localization of national marine and ocean equipment and industrial upgrading.

SONG Haihua, Vice Mayor of the People’s Government of Qidong, stated that the government will actively provide policy support and resource guarantees for the alliance, while continuously optimizing the business environment, advancing industrial projects, and facilitating the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

SHI Yuanqiang, Rotating Executive Chairman of the Alliance, emphasized that the alliance will strengthen its brand influence and industry cohesion by organizing high-end forums, thematic exhibitions, and collaborative activities between industry, universities, and research institutions.

On behalf of HEU, GENG Jing presented the alliance flag to the Executive Chairman and issued appointment letters to key leaders.

Eight alliance enterprises signed on-site cooperation agreements covering areas such as marine and shipbuilding equipment R&D, achievement transformation, market collaboration, and legal services.

The alliance emblem, designed by LI Tiebin—a renowned designer and HEU alumnus—was unveiled during the meeting. The first council meeting of the alliance was also convened on this occasion.
