On September 23, the People’s Government of Weixian County in Hebei Province and the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering of Harbin Engineering University (HEU) signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides held discussions on enhancing cooperation in technological innovation, talent cultivation, and other areas to promote the development of smart agriculture.
GENG Jing, Assistant to the President, stated that HEU places high importance on the enabling role of intelligent technology in modern agriculture, vigorously promotes interdisciplinary integration, and actively transfers key technologies from its advantageous disciplines to the agricultural sector. This strategic cooperation with Weixian County represents a significant practice of the university's intellectual resources precisely serving local development.
JIN Yu, Director of the Hebei Provincial Agricultural Mechanization Administration, stated that promoting the electrification and intelligentization of agricultural machinery and equipment is a crucial step to accelerating agricultural modernization. Hebei Province and HEU have broad space for cooperation, and it is anticipated that through their collaboration, a series of promotable advanced achievements will be implemented in Weixian County, thereby driving the development of smart agriculture.
LAN Hai, Secretary of the College of Intelligent Systems Science and Engineering, highlighted that Weixian County possesses a solid industrial foundation and broad application scenarios, providing fertile ground for the school’s scientific and technological achievements. The school should take this cooperation as an opportunity to deepen industry-university-research integration and promote disciplinary development. It will fully leverage its research strengths in areas such as intelligent equipment, AI decision-making, and big data perception to deepen cooperation with Weixian County, Hebei Province, and contribute to economic and social development.
LI Jiongna, Vice County Mayor of Weixian County, Hebei Province, introduced the unique advantages and development potential of Weixian County in the agricultural field. She stated that the Weixian County Government will provide the best policies, optimal environment, and strongest support to fully ensure the efficient implementation of a series of cooperative projects with the university.
