On October 21, HE Jin, Vice President of Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT), led a research delegation to Harbin Engineering University (HEU). ZHAO Yuxin, Vice President of HEU, attended the symposium, while GENG Jing, Assistant to the President of HEU, presided over the discussions. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as the cultivation of top-tier innovative talents, AI-driven reforms in education and teaching, and enhancing faculty teaching capabilities.
ZHAO Yuxin extended a warm welcome to HE Jin and his delegation. He emphasized that HEU attaches great importance to undergraduate talent cultivation, and has set clear goals while actively exploring initiatives in areas such as reforming the cultivation mechanisms for top-tier innovative talents, integrating AI into education reforms, and promoting teacher development. ZHAO expressed the hope that both universities would leverage their respective strengths, engage in meaningful discussions, and learn from one another in areas related to undergraduate education and faculty development, with the aim of jointly exploring new approaches to cultivating innovative talent in the new era.
HE Jin shared an overview of Chengdu University of Information Technology, highlighting the university’s initiatives in AI-driven teaching empowerment, engineering practice education, and faculty team development. He acknowledged HEU’s strong foundation and distinctive characteristics, noting the valuable experience and best practices it has accumulated in AI-empowered educational reforms. He expressed his hope that this visit would further strengthen communication, deepen cooperation, and foster exchanges—particularly in CDIO engineering education and project-based courses—so that both universities could complement each other’s strengths and contribute to the advancement of national educational development.
Before the symposium, HE Jin and his delegation visited the PLA Military Engineering Institute Memorial Hall.
