On October 25, CAO Huiquan, Secretary of the Zhuzhou Municipal Party Committee, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU) for discussions on deepening city-university cooperation and advancing industry-academia-research collaboration. The visit also featured a city promotion presentation and a specialized talent recruitment event for Zhuzhou. HEU Party Committee Secretary SONG Yingdong met with CAO Huiquan and his delegation, while Deputy Secretary LI Rongsheng attended the event.
SONG Yingdong extended a welcome to CAO Huiquan and the delegation, providing an overview of the HEU’s development history and distinctive educational characteristics. He emphasized that as a national Double First-Class university, HEU has cultivated a large number of reliable, capable, and top-notch innovative talents in the new era. He noted the broad potential for collaboration between the university and Zhuzhou City in high-end manufacturing and technological innovation, expressing hope for further deepening practical cooperation in talent development, scientific research, and results transformation to jointly contribute to national development.
CAO Huiquan stated that Zhuzhou, as a significant industrial base, holds complementary strengths with HEU in serving major national strategies. In recent years, a growing number of HEU graduates have chosen to work and settle in Zhuzhou, applying their talents in fields such as rail transportation and aerospace, thereby injecting fresh vitality into the city's industrial development. He expressed hope that this event would serve as an opportunity to attract more outstanding graduates to pursue careers and entrepreneurship in Zhuzhou, while also promoting deeper cooperation between the two sides in key technology R&D and the joint development of innovation platforms, achieving mutual benefits.
Following the meeting, the Zhuzhou City promotion and specialized talent recruitment event was held in the Academic Lecture Hall of the library, with LI Rongsheng attending and delivering remarks.
During their campus visit, CAO Huiquan and his delegation toured the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Memorial Hall, relevant laboratories, and the National University Science Park, gaining an in-depth understanding of the university’s latest progress in talent cultivation, scientific research, and the transformation of research outcomes.
