From October 25 to 27, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) hosted the “Five Northeast Universities” 2026 Graduates Autumn Large-Scale Double Selection Fair. Open to all colleges and universities in Heilongjiang Province, this year’s fair set a record for both the number of participating institutions and the volume of recruitment positions.
Careful Arrangements to Promote High-Quality and Full Employment of Graduates
On the morning of October 25, HEU leadership—including SONG Yingdong, Party Secretary of HEU; YIN Jingwei, President of HEU; and LI Rongsheng, Deputy Party Secretary of HEU—visited the fair. They engaged with employers to understand their recruitment needs and spoke with graduates, encouraging them to carry forward the legacy of the “PLA Military Engineering Institute” and contribute to national development.
To streamline the recruitment process, the fair featured 12 specialized areas dedicated to different fields of employment, enabling graduates to easily navigate according to their career interests.
The fair established a communication and feedback channel for both graduates and employers.
Comprehensive Upgrade of Career Guidance
An innovative “Special Zone for Career Guidance” was introduced this year, consisting of three sections: the AI-Enabled Experience Area, the Career Consulting and Guidance Area, and the Employment-Themed Cartoon Area. These additions offered comprehensive support to job-seeking graduates.
Over 50,000 High-Quality Positions: HEU Graduates Are Highly Favored
The fair attracted a wide range of institutions, including 306 central and local state-owned enterprises (SOEs), scientific research institutes, military industry groups, and industry-leading companies, comprising 43% of total participants. Additionally, human resources and social security departments from nine provinces and cities organized 191 high-quality local enterprises to participate as a group.
HEU is committed to enhancing graduate employment opportunities through initiatives such as enterprise visits, strengthened industry ties, and targeted recruitment services. The university also offers the “Doctors and Masters” on-the-job internship program and provides one-on-one support for each graduate.
Over the past decade, HEU has made significant contributions to national and regional development. More than 70% of its employed graduates work in industrialization, informatization, and national defense modernization. Each year, over 1,000 graduates choose to work in Heilongjiang Province. The university has been recognized as a pilot for the Ministry of Education’s talent training reform and has twice earned the title of “Heilongjiang Provincial Model University for Employment Work.”
