On October 27, a delegation led by ZHU Xingbo, Director of the Organization Department of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, visited Harbin Engineering University (HEU). The delegation conducted in-depth research and discussions on topics including talent demand alignment, achievement transformation and implementation, and talent recruitment. ZHANG Shimei, Deputy Party Secretary of HEU, attended the symposium.
During the meeting, ZHANG Shimei gave a brief introduction to HEU’s history, distinctive educational approach, and research achievements. She noted that in recent years, Yangzhou has vigorously developed emerging industries such as high-end equipment manufacturing and new energy, creating broad opportunities for collaboration between the two sides. Looking ahead, she expressed hope for deeper cooperation to promote the integration of scientific and industrial innovation, support student entrepreneurship and employment, and jointly write a new chapter of university-local collaboration and innovation.
ZHU Xingbo emphasized that Yangzhou has been striving to build itself into a city of industrial science and innovation by driving industrial upgrading through technological advancement. The city has achieved remarkable progress in fields such as high-end equipment, new materials, and information technology, offering a wide platform for talent to contribute to local development. He highlighted HEU’s strong research capabilities and rich talent resources, expressing the hope that the two sides would further strengthen cooperation, expand collaboration areas, and jointly build a solid platform for university-local cooperation. He also encouraged more HEU graduates to pursue careers and entrepreneurship in Yangzhou, injecting new momentum into the city’s high-quality development.
During the visit, the Yangzhou Government presented “Interview Subsidy Vouchers” to HEU to encourage more students to seek employment and start businesses in Yangzhou. Representatives from both sides jointly unveiled the plaque for the Northeast Liaison Office of the Baoying County Science and Technology Mayor Corps Collaborative Innovation Alliance, and signed an agreement to establish the Harbin Engineering University (Baoying County) Achievement Transformation Sub-center.
Prior to the symposium, ZHU Xingbo and his delegation visited the Harbin Military Engineering Institute Museum and HEU’s Scientific and Technological Achievements Exhibition.
