Seminar on Alumni Resource Development and 12th Joint Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries-General of Alumni Associations at HEU Held

Recently, Harbin Engineering University (HEU) hosted the Seminar on Alumni Resource Development and the 12th Joint Meeting of Presidents and Secretaries-General of Alumni Associations at Home and Abroad in Wuning, Jiangxi Province.

LIU Zhigang, President of the HEU Beijing Alumni Association, warmly welcomed the attending alumni and expressed gratitude to the governments of Jiujiang City and Wuning County. He emphasized that alumni are a precious asset of the university and a solid, reliable force for its development. He encouraged alumni to leverage their strengths, unite to advance the university’s growth, and contribute their wisdom and efforts to national development.

The conference featured the inauguration of the Jiangxi Alumni Association of HEU. LIU Zhigang presented the flag to the association, while CUI Ruijie, Honorary Chairman of the Alumni Reading Club of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, issued appointment letters to key members. Professor ZHANG Aman from HEU’s School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, along with HE Weihua, President of the Jiangxi Alumni Association, and HUANG Jingyuan, Secretary-General, jointly unveiled the plaque for the “Jiangxi Alumni Home of Harbin Engineering University.”

HU Yanzhi, Chairman of the University Alumni Calligraphy and Painting Association, donated alumni-created calligraphy works to Wuning County, symbolizing the deep friendship of HEU alumni toward the region. WU Shugang accepted the donation on behalf of Wuning County.

During the thematic sharing session, participants shared insights and practical experiences in developing industry-specific alumni associations, providing valuable references for advancing alumni work.

Representatives from HEU’s Undergraduate School introduced innovative measures and achievements in undergraduate enrollment in recent years, expressing gratitude for alumni support in promoting enrollment. Officials from the Development and Liaison Department reported on the university’s progress in alumni information services and delivered a themed presentation titled “Reflections on Alumni Resource Development in the Context of Serving Alumni’s Lifelong Growth.”

Attending alumni also engaged in group discussions on the theme of “resource development,” further exploring strategies to strengthen alumni engagement and support.
